One of the blessings and curses of living in Charleston is how many things there are available to do at any given time. Especially if you're interested in food, art, coffee, historic homes or beer. For Michael and me, the galleries have always held a special place in our hearts - we spent a full day of our Charleston honeymoon (our first visit to this city) wandering the galleries. We love going Downtown and looking at art together.
Michael and I are rarely the couple to plan huge, elaborate dates or shower each other with gifts. We tend to focus on experiences and making memories instead of gifts, but we know the significance of a baby succulent or Zero bar. Sure, we'll buy theater tickets occasionally or go out to dinner, but a normal date for us is usually more quirky and less planned.
One thing I've always appreciated about Michael is that he has encouraged me to need less structure in parts of my life so that I can better enjoy spontaneous moments - sometimes I'm too type A for my own good. Michael knows how to slow down, enjoy the moment, and explore the things around him. It makes date nights a lot more fun because they're usually spontaneous and he's always noticing new things even at places we've been before.
These photos by A Love Photography really do depict what a spontaneous date day might look like for us. Driving Downtown and wandering around is something we love doing; chatting about architecture, people watching, and popping in and out of stores and galleries. I hope they give you a small sense of "us" as you look through them.

What is something you and your significant someone enjoy doing on date days? Or, if you don't have a significant someone, what is a thing you do to treat yourself? I'd love to know!
