I received this book via Blogging for Books in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are 100% my own, as always.
Growing up, my mom was always finding ways for us kids to be creative. We learned about Egyptian hieroglyphs while carving some of them in to tables she'd made for us out of plaster of Paris, and we built many box forts on summer afternoons. These creative activities naturally branched in to our home, as well. I feel like I've always grown up surrounded by a well-crafted home, and am continually seeking more ways to make my home well-crafted. Seeing the title of this book made me immediately want to snatch it up.
A Well-Crafted Home by Janet Crowther couldn't be titled more perfectly. The DIY projects are not DIYs for children, or DIYs that you would be embarrassed to have see the light of day. They are sophisticated, occasionally simple, and would definitely add a handmade touch to your home without making you look like you were just trying to save money. These are the kinds of DIYs that will make your home feel warm and comforting. Guests will want to know all about them, which makes them great conversation starters.
I'm looking forward to diving in and putting my own twists on some of these projects. It's inspiring and makes me want to keep finding inventive ways to add more hand made and well-crafted touches to my home. I definitely recommend it!
