Last year I wrote a review about how much I loved these soy, essential oil scented candles from Element Candles. (A local to Charleston candle company.) Since that review I have burned through many of these candles as I've enjoyed their scents around my home, and have gotten my friends addicted to the scent of them, as well. A few months ago their packaging changed (still sleek and chic like before!), and I knew I needed to test them out and see if anything else had changed as well.
I love my pets, and I've always been more than happy to apply the term fur mama to myself. Max and Khaleesi are like my children, and I am so thankful for the joy they bring in to Michael's and my home. (Even though they can both be a little too full of personality some days.)
When Michael and I adopted Khaleesi I originally had dreams of doing "birth announcement" type photos with our brand new puppy. But then we saw her and I realized she was a little too big to capture the photos we'd envisioned - she was also a little too timid those first few weeks, and we were focused on making her feel safe in her new environment. So, I moved my photo aspirations on to our next pet and started dreaming up first birthday cake smash photos for Khaleesi. (I'm not kidding when I say they're like my kids.)
Taking Christmas photos every year with our tripod and a self timer (or camera remote) has been one of my favorite traditions. We have photos from our first married Christmas all the way through to this past year, and it's fun to see how much we've changed yet stayed the same. Adding Khaleesi to the crew this year definitely upped the challenge level of getting a good photo of all of us...we settled for a realistic one.
Happy 2018, lovely friends!
I love the start of a new year! January can be such a month of refreshment in my life since it tends to be a slower month for weddings. That means January is a prime time for me to look back over the past year, plan out the year to come, and adjust systems that weren't working as efficiently as I needed them to be over the past couple months.
One thing I really want to do better about is specific, actionable goal setting. This is something I used to be very good at, but towards the end of 2018 I neglected to do well. It's time to get back on that horse!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you + all of your loved ones!
