Shirt: Little Tokyo in LA | Pants: American Eagle (old) | Shoes: Minnetonka | Glasses: Bonlook | Location: Downtown Charleston, SC | Photographer: Vested Image (Michael) Walking around Downtown Charleston is one of my favorite things. Perhaps I'm just still too new here and mesmerized by basically everything, but I adore the buildings and colors that can be seen all over. There is no shortage of things to do or places to eat Downtown, but if you don't want to spend money it's still a gorgeous place to wander. There are some really pretty alleyways and side streets if you keep your eyes open. Honestly, I feel like I discover something new and enchanting every time I come Downtown. Charleston has a way of staying warm even through the Fall (last year I was still able to wear shorts around Christmas - which is a miracle considering how I'm almost always cold), which makes knowing how to dress tricky. However, we have had a couple cooler days recently. Growing up in California meant that Fall meant a gradual slip in to cool weather with very little other signs to accompany the season change. Ever since moving to the East side of the USA (first Tennessee now South Carolina), I've begun to enjoy fall more as I see the changes it can bring to the trees and the world around me. Learning how to transition with the weather is still a struggle, though.
When it's cool I'm all about cozy sweaters (especially over sized ones) and soft corduroy pants. I also count down the days practically all summer to when I can wear my Minnetonkas again without feeling like my feet are going to melt off. (Seriously they are the MOST comfortable, but they also keep my feet incredibly warm.) This sweater is one I bought in January when I was visiting my family in California. We spent a day in Little Tokyo and stumbled across the cutest shop. Internet memes and adoration for Lil Bub aside, I just had to get it based off of softness alone. Outfits like this are definitely my fall uniform. What type of clothes do you gravitate towards on cooler days? xoxo, Stacia
