As the weather gets cooler I have always struggled with finding what to wear to dressy events. It feels like a constant battle between what will keep me warm enough (yet also keep me from overheating in this unpredictable Southern weather) and looking chic. I get cold easily, but there is a point when your outfit might have too many layers going on, so finding a dress that enables me to avoid that is often a struggle.
A couple years ago I stumbled across this dress in the sale section of Anthropologie and have yet to find its equal. It's made from a lightweight corduroy, but the skirt is so voluminous that it is very warm. The halter top enables a lot of flexibility. It has been my go-to cooler weather dressy dress ever since I purchased it.
Looking back on pictures of the past couple Falls, this dress has been on repeat quite a bit. Probably too often. Honestly, it's time to start searching for a new dress like this one, but I struggle to find its equal. What can I say, I'm a creature of habit and if something's not broken, I don't always enjoy fixing it.
Where do you like to hunt for great Fall dresses?
