I received this book via Blogging for Books in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are 100% my own, as always.
Growing up, my mom was always finding ways for us kids to be creative. We learned about Egyptian hieroglyphs while carving some of them in to tables she'd made for us out of plaster of Paris, and we built many box forts on summer afternoons. These creative activities naturally branched in to our home, as well. I feel like I've always grown up surrounded by a well-crafted home, and am continually seeking more ways to make my home well-crafted. Seeing the title of this book made me immediately want to snatch it up.
It's inspiring to watch other creatives and entrepreneurs chase wholeheartedly after their dreams. Over the past couple years, I've been following the journey of a woman named Heather. She runs an empowering blog (Hiya, Tootsie!), writes words that sing, and has launched her own perfume line. All along the way, she's been sharing peeks behind the scenes with such passion and eloquent vulnerability that makes you unable to do anything except cheer along with her!
For the past several years Michael and I have made a tradition of having our own advent calendar and counting down the days until Christmas. Each evening all the way until Christmas, we carve out some time together and do an activity. It's a great way to fill the month with intention and keep the season in the forefront of our minds. In fact, it's something I look forward to all year.
Whether you want to fill your home with some lasting blooms, would like to use them for your wedding, or are just looking for a fun excuse to learn a new skill, come learn how to make paper garden roses with us!
Our house is shouting a big, warm welcome to little Khaleesi who just joined the ranks of our family this past weekend! We've been on the hunt for a puppy ever since Michael gave me permission to start looking for one on Christmas. (My childhood dream was to get a puppy for Christmas - which Michael had tried to arrange but shelters in our area don't do Christmas puppies due to a trend of after Christmas returns or neglected pets. Since we prefer to adopt through shelters, and he couldn't get me a living puppy, he bought me a stuffed animal puppy and gave me permission to find the puppy of my dreams.)
