"My hope is to eventually truly realize that sometimes we have to 'fail' at some things in order to actually move closer to our goals. And maybe to take 'fail' out of my vocabulary all together. Because as much as I felt like I dropped some balls this week, I really just rolled them to a point in the future where I could pay attention to them. "
I received this setting powder from Influenster x Laura Mercier in exchange for my honest opinion. #HowDoYouTLSP #contest
Setting powders are something I generally avoid. I have combination skin and I've found that setting powders - or powders in general - tend to cling to the drier areas of my skin. I don't know about you, but that's not a look I personally enjoy. I've tried a few - Coty Airspun powder and Wet N Wild's contouring palette in Dulce de Leche have been the most successful - but never been thrilled. Especially not enough to splurge on a high end setting powder.
Winter in Charleston has been incredibly mild and boy have I loved it! (Michael keeps reminding me that it probably means we're in for an intensely hot summer, but I'm enjoying not freezing to death in the present. #thelittlethings haha. You all will have to remind me of this if I complain about the summer heat!) Because winter has been so mild, signs of spring have been present since the beginning of February.
I will always love the colors and architecture of the buildings in Downtown Charleston.
When I was growing up, I was obsessed with the Mandie books by Lois Gladys Leppard. Mandie traveled to Charleston on several occasions throughout the books, and it made the city sound enchanting. When she was old enough, my sister read the same books, so it was fun to finally be able to show her the city we both read so much about as children. Until this trip, we would just laugh when we texted or saw each other in California about how funny and strange the world is, that I live in Charleston now. A place that previously had been so far away and mysterious to us when we were children.
Hello March! Boy was I ready for you to arrive!
February was a wonderful but hectic month in Michael's and my household. Max had surgery, our heater had issues, we overbooked ourselves, and then I closed out the month with some kind of sick bug that is still hanging on. Of course, the good moments, dinners out with friends, a visit from my family, and a couple date nights, were really wonderful. It all just felt a little too rushed for my taste.
