Winter in Charleston has been incredibly mild and boy have I loved it! (Michael keeps reminding me that it probably means we're in for an intensely hot summer, but I'm enjoying not freezing to death in the present. #thelittlethings haha. You all will have to remind me of this if I complain about the summer heat!) Because winter has been so mild, signs of spring have been present since the beginning of February.
Spring and fall are my two favorite seasons because they're such beautiful times of transitions. Watching tiny buds pop up on bushes, trees, and plants as spring gets ever closer makes my heart happy and fills me with anticipation for when it will finally be warm enough to go to the beach.
These photos were taken near the beginning of February (I'm a little behind with real-life blog posts) on the last day my family was in town. Since they only had a couple hours to spend with us before heading off to the airport, we chose to go get coffee and take a walk in Downtown Park Circle. This strip is mostly restaurants (and almost everything is closed on Sundays), but we grabbed some coffee from Orange Spot and wandered down the street - taking advantage of the pretty walls and murals for some final photo ops - and dreaming of what we would all do together next time we were reunited. Seeing all of the pretty blooms beginning to blossom on the trees along the sidewalk was the perfect touch to our walk.
Spring, I'm excited for you and am ready to welcome you with open arms in 12 more days!
What are your favorite seasons? Do you have a favorite spring activity?
