Last year I wrote a review about how much I loved these soy, essential oil scented candles from Element Candles. (A local to Charleston candle company.) Since that review I have burned through many of these candles as I've enjoyed their scents around my home, and have gotten my friends addicted to the scent of them, as well. A few months ago their packaging changed (still sleek and chic like before!), and I knew I needed to test them out and see if anything else had changed as well.
After burning them in my home for the past couple months in their new packaging, I'm happy to report that I have not noticed any significant changes beyond the packaging. The new glass containers (pictured below in black next to one of the old, white containers) is a little taller and slimmer, and the glass walls are a little thicker which makes the candles feel quite sturdy.
The taller, slimmer packaging allows the whole candle to melt evenly across the top a little quicker than the old packaging did. This means that 1) I notice the scent throughout the room quicker, and 2) there's less of a chance that I'm going to need to dash off somewhere and blow the candle out before it can achieve this even melt.
(Ensuring that your candles warm evenly across the top each time you burn them is important to get the longest, best life out of your candles.)
My very favorite scent from the Element Candles line is still Musk 2. I describe it to my friends as the perfect mix of feminine and masculine scents. It's not too far on either side of the scale and makes whatever room I burn it in feel warm and cozy. The amber, citrus, clove, and jasmine top notes are pure perfection!
My other favorite from their line is their Wood 3 scent. It's a little brighter than Musk 2, which makes sense considering orange is the top note, but is far from the overly bright, sickeningly sweet scents that some brighter candles have. The base notes of sandalwood, amber and tonka do a great job of grounding the scent and keeping it earthy.
I have been consistently impressed by the quality of candles that I have gotten from Element Candles. The scents are always consistent, their burn time is as advertised, and I can't help but fall in love with their sleek packaging. I'm looking forward to continuing to burn them in my home throughout 2018!
What are your favorite candles to burn at home? What kinds of scents do you lean towards?
