These cards were provided to me by The Simple Perks' shop. All opinions and thoughts are 100% my own. Letter writing has almost always been a special part of my life. Back at my parents' house in California I have 2 (small-ish) bins full of letters from my growing up years that I just can't part with. The love really got going around the time I was 10 when my best friend moved from California to Washington. To help stay connected over the distance (and avoid racking up our parents' phone bills), we would write each other letters. We called them "round robins" thanks to some book from my childhood that I can no longer recall the name of, but the name meant that these letters were stuffed to. the. max. Extra postage was always required. To this day, I've always enjoyed writing letters to friends. I may not be the best at getting your birthday card to you on the exact right day, but I'm the master of sending "just because this card screamed your name and I wanted to make you smile" cards. They're usually the best ones to receive, too. The right card can connect long distance best friends or make the recipient laugh out loud. They're like a fun inside joke. My favorite cards get the primary message across right away and then leave you plenty of space to add additional thoughts. The cards from The Simple Perks' shop meet both of those criteria! I love Kristin's clean, modern style. It's easy to tell what the message of each card is, but she keeps them fun and isn't afraid of color, which I adore. They're printed onto a nice, heavy cardstock that's easy to write on and doesn't encourage pen transfer. (We all know the type of paper I'm talking about, where the ink never seems to dry or stick to the paper. I can't stand that!) When I buy cards, I always prefer to support makers like The Simple Perks because there is a more visible heart and passion behind the product. Plus, it's much easier to get the recipient a unique card. It doesn't hurt that I'm supporting another dream chaser, either! These are my personal favorite kind of simple life perks. The flamingo card is headed straight off to my sister-in-law who will appreciate the pun. (Seriously, she is the queen of puns.) However, I think I might keep and frame the hangry card because I definitely get hangry and may have apologized for things I've said when hungry before. (Sorry, Michael!) Which card would you keep? Do you ever frame the cards you love? What are your favorite types of cards to send to people? Be sure to check out The Simple Perks' shop!
